What we do

We turn vision into orbit.

Vinterstellar helps companies, researchers, and institutions transform ideas into missions — expanding human capability and knowledge in space

Our Expertise

Mission Definition & System Architecture

We transform ambitious visions into concrete plans. This is the starting point, where we work with you to define mission objectives, establish requirements, and create the high-level system architecture that serves as the blueprint for the entire project, whether it’s a commercial constellation or a scientific mission to another planet.

Mission Analysis & Flight Dynamics

We provide the rigorous analysis to prove a mission is viable. Leveraging advanced mathematical modeling and simulation, we cover everything from trajectory and orbit design to performance optimization. This is where we determine the ‘how’—ensuring your mission is not only possible, but optimized for success.

System Engineering & Development

We guide projects from blueprint to reality. We provide the hands-on system engineering needed to manage the development, integration, and implementation of complex hardware and software. We ensure all parts of the system work in harmony and that the final product meets its objectives, on time and on budget.

Innovative Technologies & Applications

We thrive on pushing boundaries. From advanced photonics to groundbreaking propulsion, we help integrate cutting-edge technology into practical systems. We also love a unique challenge, having managed the development of a privately-funded art installation successfully deployed on the Moon.

Education & Strategic Outreach

We are passionate about building the future of space. That is why we partner with leading Swedish universities and national space agencies. Together we develop and deliver world-class education in space systems, while also building the teams that will lead tomorrow’s missions.

Our Track Record

We have had the privilege of contributing to innovative and impactful projects in the modern space era. Our clients range from major system integrators to ambitious new-space companies and leading research institutions.

For a major European space system integrator:

We played an instrumental role in the definition and successful sales process of a critical arctic weather satellite constellation.

For a successful and ambitious new space entrant:

We provided key mission analysis and supported the definition and implementation of their innovative propulsion systems for next-generation GEO platforms.

For a leading national space institute:

We collaborated on the definition of a future scientific mission to Venus, laying the groundwork for new interplanetary exploration.

For Sweden’s top technical universities and space agencies:

We develop and deliver high-level education and training programs in advanced space systems, fostering the next generation of space engineers.

For a visionary art project:

We demonstrated our unique project management and innovation capabilities by leading the development of a privately-funded art installation successfully placed on the Moon.

Example Cases

Trajectory Mission Analysis for Plasma Physics Observations during the 2029 Apophis Flyby

Thesis project that explores a low-thrust trajectory strategy for a small 12U CubeSat platform named Onuris to intercept asteroid (99942) Apophis during its close flyby.

Mission analysis for future Venus flybys mission DUNGEY-V

A mission of comparative  magnetospheric physics to explore the Venusian magnetotail.

Created a Geostationary Satellite platform together with SWISSto12

Worked with SWISSto12 from an early stage in the conception of the HummingSat Geostationary Satellite platform. Together we defined and procured an electrical propulsion subsystem as well as performed a mission analysis including low thrust orbit raising and geostationary maneuvering.

A space system with arctic focus

Together with OHB Sweden and a northern European stakeholder we conceived and definied Arctic Weather Satellites.

Implementing AI to Satellite systems

Worked with PandionAI in implementing their Edge AI EO techonology in satellite constellation system concept. Vinterstellar contributed with the data flow architecture and a preliminary satellite design.

Placing a house on the moon

Worked with the Moonhouse in designing an art payload for deployment on the moon and with the programmatic challenges of finding transportation and funding for the mission.
