Vinterstellar Deliverables:
- Mission analisys
- Analytics
Our role in this project was to define a spacecraft and mission capable of achieving the plasma measurement for IRF on Venus Magneto-tail. The main challenge was to design the trajectory where the spacecraft needed to fly 10 times, behind Venus, and to the measurement. A specific algorithm for the selection of the flyby has been implemented allowing to maintain the resonant orbit via gravity assist maneuver, while maximizing the time spend in the Venus shadow. The second challenge was to design a spacecraft fitting the requirement of an F-class mission, and the communication budget to allow the downlinking of the data toward the Earth.
